SCHOLARSHIP
The NWYRA is proud to award thousands of dollars in educational funding in honor of Jake Thompson each year to support our graduating seniors by sending them off to college with a scholarship!
​EVERY YEAR GRADUATING SENIORS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY

Applicant must be a current and paid Contestant/Member of NWYRA.

Applicant that is pursuing a post-high school course of study at either a college/university, other post-secondary educational institution, or a trade school are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship application will be scored according to the Scholarship Scoring Rubrics.

Applicant must appear before the Scholarship Committee for a 15 minutes interview conducted at the second rodeo of the season.

Lexie Pickering

Lexie is a graduate of South Umpqua High School. She will be attending Oregon State University where she will be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science with a goal of becoming an Equine Veterinarian
Bailey Reese

Bailey is a graduate of Yamhill-Carlton High School. Sher will be attending University of Idaho to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Science with a goal of becoming a Pediatric Surgeon
Taylor Blackburn
$2,000.00
Taylor is a graduate of St Helens High School. She will be attending Portland Community College to pursue a degree in Nursing with the goal of becoming a Pediatric Nurse.
