BIRTH CERTIFICATES
Anyone who has provided us a copy of their contestant's state issued birth certificate in the past shouldn't need to re-submit as we have a record of them being checked. If you are unsure, feel free to reach out to us at secretary@nwyra.net.
If you have a contestant that is new to NWYRA we will need to verify their age with their Birth Certificate. You have a few options, you can either upload a copy onto their Saddlebook Docs, mail us a copy, or present it to us prior to them competing.
*If you enter your child & don't bring it, your child will be ineligible to compete that weekend until it's presented. No refunds will be issued for any entry fees.
Please do not email your birth certificates you can mail it to PO Box 532 Yamhill OR 97148.
*If you would like it mailed back to you, please include a self addressed stamped envelope. Otherwise, it will be shred once we have confirmed the age.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Know The Rules
You & your contestant are responsible for knowing the NWYRA rules. These are posted on the main page of our website for your convenience. We encourage you to print these out & keep them in your trailer to refer to.
Volunteering
Volunteering for 1 position per rodeo per contestant is not only required, but also necessary in order for us to put on these rodeos! (This means 2 positions for 2 contestants, etc, and it also means you must do them twice in one weekend for double headers) Please see the rules in regards to this, as we have unfortunately needed to add some repercussions for those who don't fulfill their volunteer requirements. Sign ups will be available when books open for St Paul, where you will have the option to sign up for your positions for the entire year if you please.
Family Cleanup Responsibility
On top of their volunteer requirements - each family will need to sign up for Sunday cleanup for one of the five rodeo weekends. This means they will stay until the rodeo is complete and help ensure the facilities are in pristine condition so these rodeo associations will welcome us back to rodeo at their facilities each year. (Please note, this is not a per contestant requirement, families with 2 or more will still only need to sign up for ONE rodeo)
Raffle Fundraiser
Each year we have a raffle to help raise money for our association. Tickets will be handed out to each contestant at the member meeting during St Paul and need to be turned in prior to the member meeting at Philomath. Contestants will be responsible to turn in any unsold tickets or will owe the amount of the tickets. Once each contestant turns in 10 tickets they will earn some NWYRA swag, such as a hat, shirt, or sweatshirt. Top Sellers in each division will also be recognized on stage & earn a prize at the year end banquet! There will be opportunities at Canyonville, Sisters, Molalla & Philomath to turn in the tickets. Contestants can also pick up their tickets if they missed their chance at St Paul, or even get more tickets during this time! (We will also try to always have tickets available at the Rodeo Office as well for anyone who needs them)
Sponsors
Our sponsors are a HUGE reason we are able to rodeo, have great payouts and AMAZING awards each year! Please have your contestants thank them if you guys come across them, share their posts on social media, and help make it known just how much we truly appreciate them. Also, if you have anyone who you feel might be a good fit for a sponsor, please send their information to secretary@nwyra.net so we can reach out to them, as we can always use more support!
Camping Fee
There will be a $20 per family camping fee for each rodeo weekend. This fee will be paid when you enter your contestant in each rodeo online. This means that you will only pay ONE camping fee for the doubleheaders, this fee is per family so if a family has multiple contestants, they only need to pay the fee for one. Same if one family brings two different rigs, one with the horse trailer and one with the travel trailer, it is still only one fee. We will not be charging vendors, stock, contractors, or spectators/visitors.
You will need to check in at each rodeo at the office to get your camping pass for the weekend.
*Philomath charges their own camping fee, NWYRA will not be charging for that rodeo. The fee they charge will be at their own discretion.
You will agree to a membership waiver (link below) when you sign up for each rodeo. Please read this and have your contestants understand it as well!
